EVE-NG Server randomly drops out

Post by sierrabobs » Fri Nov 22, 2019 5:42 pm

Hello,

My EVE-NG server VM randomly reboots which causes a disruption of the database and I have to do a restore of the database each time it happens. Here are the specifics to the environment:

Dell PowerEdge R610
ESXi 6.5
Intel Xeon X5570 CPU 2.93 GHz
1.4 TB RAM
32 VM's on the chassis
EVE Version: 2.0.3-95 Community Edition
Only VM that exhibits this behavior is the EVE-NG

Linux eve-ng 4.9.40-eve-ng-ukms-2+ #4 SMP Fri Sep 15 02:07:02 CEST 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I have had to restore the database twice now. Yesterday it dropped out while I was in the middle of a lab.

What other information can I get for you?

Thanks

and what do you want from this old server, and 32 VM machines on it!
Sorry this server has max 24 virtual cores, so max VMs on such box would be suitable 2-4 VMs with seriously assigned and reserved CPU and ram source.
All simple, your VMs stop to work because other VMs overlapping CPU use.

Remember RAM is useless if your CPU will not hold VMs...
