unexpected EOF error when running wget for linux installation

Linux lobster-pot1 5.4.0-66-generic #74-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jan 27 22:54:38 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
installing on a Cisco UCS C220 M4. fdisck below
gone through the install guide for the bear metal install for linux.
wget -O - https://www.eve-ng.net/repo-bionic/install-eve-pro.sh | bash -i
ends with the below - ran it as su - tried it on my ubuntu laptop - simiar linux version and it ran.
