Unable to select most templates when adding a new node

I installed EVE-NG VM on Proxmox via the iso image EVE-20171007.iso
The Server:
Dual CPUs: Intel Xeon CPU E5-2640 v2 @ 2.00GHz
96 GB of RAM
storage: SSD
EVE-NG is installed with 2 cpu sockets and 2 cores each and assigned 8 GB of RAM.
The VM's CPU type is set to host.
I enabled nested virtualization.
The install went smooth and I didnt see any errors. after the install completed, I went through the setup (setting root password and timezone etc) and rebooted.
I changed the VMs hardware display type to virtio-gpu.
I can successfully log into the web interface but when I try to add a Node, there is a long list of templates, but they are all greyed out except VirtualPC (VPCS).
When i move my mouse over any of the greyed out templates, the mouse curser changes to a red NO symbol
How can I get the rest of the templates to become selectable?
