Unable to run EVE-NG

Hello everyone,
I came here as a last hope to my issue. I have been setting up eve-ng on my esxi server, I get it up and running and I am also able to reach the eve-ng environment with http and address.
During the initial installation I assign it a static ip address.
The problem arise when I login as a root, it is taking me once again thru the basic questions and I once again select static ip address.
It does not give me the option to fill in the ip address again, I continue and then it reboots and my static ip address is gone, then I am not able to access eve-ng environment anymore.
I tried all different adjustments and I can not get it right. I went thru the cookbook but found no resolution to this.
Any ideas please?
