Upgrade from 4.0.1-86 on Ubuntu 18 to 5.x

I am using EVE-NG v4.0.1-86-Pro on Ubuntu 18.04. What is the best path to upgrade to v5.x? Should I upgrade Ubuntu to 20.04 first? Or that Ubuntu upgrade will fail all my EVE and I have to do a clean re-install of v5.x?
