Default root/eve CLI creds not working

I've never had an issue with any type of eve-ng install until trying this within a ProxMox environment. I've installed twice now and both times I cant log into the CLI to even begin configuration. The basic Ubuntu install works fine but yah... invalid creds.
Any ideas?

First,
proxmox is not supported

second you simply did not complete the eve installation !
You did just first part of install which is ubuntu, and did not wait until second phase will start, EVE install.
for that is required to have live internet and DNS on your vm..
