Default Image Question

I have a working lab where I've made 3 images the "default images" per this guideline.

If I were to wipe those devices within this lab, would they go back to my committed image, or the actual factory reset?

Or, should I just create a brand new lab to only have those devices, make my changes, and commit within this brand new lab? That way, in my working topology, I can just wipe to these newly created images?
I basically want snapshot option and was curious to see what would be the best way to implement this.
