Bare Metal vs ESXi

Hi, this is an inquiry to understand how to tune the lab environment better. I'm thinking of csr1000v devices here. I read the FAQ, and I am still wondering if there is a way within the environment to allow hard disk to be used for swapping for vm memory? We can do this in ESXi, but my small lab box with 16GB ram (max) is on a bare metal server. Any ideas on this would be great. Is there a recommended minimum H/W for running +20 csr1000v ?

If you want to run 20CSR, Both Esxi and Baremental works ok with EVE-NG v77,
Hardware Latest CPU with VT-X enables with 32GB RAM minimum.

Thanks. Sadly, I think I don't have enough base ram. However, the other question I had was regarding using HDD for swapping. That does work in ESXi, but is there a way to do that within EVE-ng?

Esxi or Bare Metal you need good enough RAM for 20+CSR, HDD swap some point usefull but you need to have Physical RAM.
If you looking for RNS Labs, with Low RAM you can use IOU( but it is old no further development available), But it works.

Bare always will be better !!!
ESXi is another level of virtualization..
bare eliminates it..
so bare using clear server or PC source...
Example Dual X5650 with exi cannot run heavy nodes like FirePower FMC...
same install bare on same CPU set...YES..
