I've been working on some new features for EVE-NG and figured I'd share here in case others are interested.
- Linux bridge code is replaced for Open Virtual Switch
- Docker support was mostly functional, but made a few small changes to make it function
- Rewrote handler function for docker to support vnc, telnet and w/custom ports
- Rewrote capture handler to capture traffic locally to docker node
- Ability to add links to already running devices (hotadd)
The install can be found here

A demo of the features [except the live interface add is here]

Why use OVS?
hotadd only for iOS or for all Nodes (Juniper, Checkpoint, PaloAlto,Riverbed,ExtremeOS)?
Will look into it - thanks

I used ovs mainly because it is more flexible than using linux bridge. The capture directly to docker node feature that i added relies on ovs's ability to span a port.
Hotadd should work for all interface types except serial. I haven't tested all node types, so if you see a problem, let me know and I will fix it.
Thanks for checking out the code!

Hi all,
EVE-NG team will not support this OVS choice. Indeed OVS features brings as well limitations.
Use at your own risk...

I'm curious what sort of limitations you have seen with ovs? It is currently passing lacp, bpdus and cdp without issues. I do agree its use at your own risk...

Chris I know you
as good man and EVE supporter here, you can try of course but I afraid but we cant support such EVE installs...
Own risk mate only...
Same features but diff way will come in EVE Pro.
No OVS.

Hi UD,
no worries - my Prod-Rack and Test-Rack will stick with eve-official. I will spawn an additional node called 3rd-party and just test this because I'm curious
I will always stick with the recommended and supported Version - because this version changed the whole way of training for me and because i support eve
