Hello,
i just bought server HP DL360e G8 with 2x8cores and 64GB ram with 4x LFF HDDs. I will do bare metal installation, so whole server is dedicated just for EVE-NG. I bought it without HDDs, just with caddies so I have option to get appropriate disks. Currently I am struggling to find an information about disk sizing. I just found some partial information so here is my plan:
- 2x SAS HDDs, small size around 150GBs in Mirror, mounted to / just for ubuntu
- 1x 500GB HDD, mounted to /opt/unetlab/addons just to store quemu, dynamips, iol images
- 1x xxxGBs HDD (maybe 500GB is enough maybe less) mounted to /opt/unetlab/tmp/ for labs

I would appreciate any comments, advices. Would you go for such a sizes? What about SSDs or hybrid HDDs?

Thank you folks.

1T will be OK for you
or x2 1T in mirror
I suggest look at SSHD models not SATA...they are faster

..so your advice is to go for 2x 1TB SSHD and used whole disk for / ? How big impact on lab performance HDDs have? Wouldn't be faster to have SSHDs for system and images and one SSD for /opt/unetlab/tmp?

Thx.

no such mix is not recommended, use same kind of hdd.
if so then get one 1T SSD
