Please Help a Newbie create a Juniper vQFX node?

Post by Peterparker21 » Sun Feb 06, 2022 11:47 am

I'm new to the EVE-NG forums and the application, having cut my teeth with Cisco PacketTracer. I've downloaded and set up VMWare Workstation Player V16.1, and I also downloaded the EVE-NG community edition. VM is given 8GB of RAM as well as four cores. EVE-NG is running and appears to be working as expected because I can log in to the EVE-COMM VM and have an access point to the Command-Line. I can also view the topology using the IP address supplied to the user. I have added two PC nodes and can ping forward and back. So far, so good.
I downloaded the Juniper.net webpage, the version of PFE and RE included in the Juniper VXFX How-To guides on the EVE-NG site, specifically 17.4R1 in both instances. Follow instructions in the How-To guide, create folders, copy files to the appropriate places, and then adjust permissions for the files before renaming. I then added the RE and PFE node to an entirely new topology in my browser and then connected the em1/int interfaces to both nodes.

I try to start both engines, and I get output from both machines, but neither finishes and displays an e-mail that allows for commands. It is evident that the RE output is more extensive than the PFE output, and both images are attached.

Have you had success in creating an operational VFX node within EVE-NG? Are you missing an element, or is there something I can do to make this work?

Thank you for your time.
