I get the following issue when I try to access the console of a device via the web interface on a Mac running Big Sur (11.6.4):
[Command not found: telnet]
[Could not create a new process and open a pseudo-tty.]
I've followed the guidance in this forum and disabled SIP via the recovery boot, but when I try to mount the folder to create the symbolic link I get a permission error. Further reading seems to suggest Bug Sur has made the OS read-only, and you have to use a thing called a "synthetic link" in place of the symbolic link. I've followed the instructions and created the synthetic.conf file with the following in /etc/:
telnet usr/local/bin/telnet
Rebooted the mac, but I still get the same error. Has anyone got this working?
I have telnet installed, and if I manually put in the port number I can telnet with no issues, and telnet is installed in the folder listed above.
