Neither Intel VT-x or AMD-V Found - Error message

Post by jackster44 » Thu Dec 08, 2022 3:18 pm

Hi Forum,

I just bought a new Acer Nitro 5 which comes with Intel Core I7 and 32 Mb RAM.
I installed VirtualBox and successfully installed EVE-NG Community and loaded some Cisco Nodes (ASA-V, router, switch).
When I connect via HTTP, I can add the nodes but they won't start.
I believe the cause might be this error message that I get in the VM console when it first boots up: Neither Intel VT-x or AMD-V Found
I researched this error and have take the following corrective measures to no avail:

1. Enabled VT-x in BIOS
2. Disabled MS Hyper-V on the laptop which is running Windows 11
3. Checked "Enable Nested VT-x/AMD-V" from VirtualBox Processor settings

Not sure what I'm missing here but any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Thanks for that information.

I see that VMWare v14 and later are supported so I setup VMWare Workstation v17 and have the exact same problem, same error.

Any ideas?

thanks

Then you have not enaled it in the BIOS, or you have windows 11, which require extra setup to allow nested virtualization
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

There was one step on the Windows 11 list that I hadn't done regarding the Group policy... once I did that, I now have everything working!

Thank you so much for your help with this, I really appreciate it!
