How to impport FortiGate firewall

create local director on the following path

# mkdir -p /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/fortinet-5.2.3b670

upload your image to the created director and lets assume its name is fortios_5-2-3.qcow2 ( by WINSCP or FileZilla )
and enter the following commands

# cd /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/fortinet-5.2.3b670

# mv fortios_5-2-3.qcow2 virtioa.qcow2

# /opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper -a fixpermissions

Hi All,

I have downloaded kvm from fortigate web and followed steps to create "virtioa.qcow2" however i am still facing issue.

Issue is after starting the FW its turning to stop button, not sure what's wrong. can some one help me with this.

Why on this post there was no need to rm certain files?
And why there is no virtioa.qcow2 and virtiob.qcow2 as per the above link???

there are given two image create options.
See difference of images ??

FGT_VM64_KVM-v5-build1449-FORTINET.out.kvm.zip

FMG_VM64-v5-build1151-FORTINET.out.ovf.zip

One is FGT compiled from KVM original image !!! Firewall. KVM has only one hdd inside and must be named as virtioa.qcow2

Second image is Forti Manager compiled from OVA.
vmdk must be converted to virtio a and b
